Harry Potter Mania

Most of you know that my sister won a Harry Potter essay contest when the 6th book came out, and she won a free trip to London for her efforts. Now that the 7th book is coming out, Scholastic is flying her and my mom to New York AGAIN this weekend for the release party. The TODAY show called our house this afternoon, too, and they want to interview Caitlin on Friday morning, along with Arthur Levine--the publisher of the Harry Potter books. Caitlin's still at music camp, so they're working out the details, but I'll keep you posted. Good grief! Talk about brushes with fame! I'm suddenly feeling woefully inadequate. . .

I'll see if I can find a copy of the essay. It's quite entertaining. I'd just like to point out, however, that without my help in hogging the books, none of this would ever have happened. :-)

Wow! So, why does she get to fly out again for the release party? I really want to read her essay . . . it must be really good!

Instead of having a new contest, Scholastic is bringing all of the winners from the old contests to New York. We had no idea that this was happening; we only found out a few weeks ago. Crazy, eh?
